Our Staff

Donald J. Grande, M.D.

Dr. Grande received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1973. He completed a rotating internship at Malcolm Grow United States Air Force Medical Center, Washington, D.C.  After completing his residency in Dermatology at Boston University Medical Center in 1977, Dr. Grande was assigned to Pease Air Force Base, Portsmouth, N.H. until 1981. He then went on to complete his Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in 1982, where he received specialized training in MOHS Micrographic Surgery, Dermatologic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Cutaneous Laser Surgery. Dr. Grande has held numerous teaching appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine and the University of Massachusetts. He currently is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine. He served as the Chief than as the Vice Chairman of  Dermatology at New England Medical Center before serving as the Chairman of Dermatology at Lahey Clinic. Dr. Grande started Mystic Valley Dermatology in 1995 while serving as Chief of Dermatology at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He has held many positions on Professional and Scientific Societies including the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons, Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, Boston University School of Medicine Alumni Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, International Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Leaders Society of the Dermatology Foundation, New England Dermatology Society and the Society of Military Dermatologists. Dr. Grande has received many achievement awards including the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Award for Scientific Achievement Alliance of Air National Guard Flight Surgeons, and Best of Boston, Dermatology. He has many publications including 36 Original Articles and 4 Invited Monographs and Book Chapters. Dr. Grande is currently focusing on Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and serves as a fellowship director for the Mohs College. Dr Grande also serves as a colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve.

W. Zoe Stitt, M.D.

Stitt, MD
, has been an associate at Mystic Valley Dermatology since 2001. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Stitt was an assistant professor in dermatology at Boston University Medical School; she continues to teach and is currently a clinical assistant professor with Tufts University Medical School. Dr. Stitt is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathlogy. She received her dermatology training from the University of Rochester Medical School, Rochester, NY and her dermatopathology training from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at University Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Stitt received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. She is an active member in the American Academy of Dermatology, New England Dermatology Society, and participates in Boston University Dermatology Grand Rounds. Her clinical interests are in medical dermatology, particularly skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment.

David S. Mezebish, M.D.


Dr. Mezebish received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in 1990. He completed his dermatology residency at
National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland in 1998. He did his internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and then did Flight Surgeon training at the Naval Aerospace Institute. He was a staff dermatologist at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, Illinois prior to beginning his Mohs fellowship training at Mystic Valley Dermatology and Boston University Hospital with Dr. Grande in 2001. After completing his fellowship Dr. Mezebish served as the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and an Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He is currently employed at Maryland Skin Cancer Specialties. He rejoined Mystic Valley Dermatology in August of 2004. He has many publications including an article on skin grafting on Emedicine. Dr. Mezebish served in the United States Navy from August of 1986 until July of 2004.

 

Christine Kannler, M.D., MPH


Dr. Kannler received her medical degree from Boston University in 2000, and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Her internal medicine residency was completed at Boston Medical Center. Her dermatology residency began at Wright State University and was completed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in June 2006. Dr. Kannler currently volunteers as a member of the editorial committee for the Women’s Dermatological Society (WDS) and of the preceptorship committee for the American Society for Dermatological Surgeons (ASDS). Dr. Kannler volunteers at Whittier Street Clinic once a month providing dermatologic care to underserved inner city patients. She also gives lectures to the primary care residents at Boston Medical Center. She will commence a Mohs fellowship in July 2007.

Karen Morin Limaye, MSN, F.N.P.

Karen Limaye received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Providence College in 1991. She went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in the Family Nurse Practitioner program in 2000. After practicing in Otolaryngology at Boston Medical Center as a nurse practitioner, Ms. Limaye attended a one year dermatology fellowship program at Lahey Clinic for nurse practitioners which she completed in 2004. She is active in the Dermatology Nursing Association, the New England Dermatology Nurse Practitioner’s Association, Boston University Dermatology Grand Rounds and the New England Dermatology Society. She is currently participating with the Dermatology Nursing Association and CNET to develop a board certification examination for Nurse Practitioners practicing in dermatology.

Tori Hall PA-C

Tori Hall received her bachelor of science degree at the University of Maine in Orono in 1999.  She subsequently graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 2005 with a master of science in Physician Assistant Studies.  Prior to entering the field of dermatology, Ms. Hall worked full-time in a surgical sub-specialty at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.  She is an active member of the AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants), the SDPA (Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants), and participates regularly in dermatology grand rounds at Boston University.

Krista Reis PA-C

Krista Reis is a certified Physician Assistant who joined the Mystic Valley Dermatology Surgical Team in April 2006, and now serves as Surgical Coordinator.  In 1996 she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, during which she was an active member in two area rescue squads as an EMT-D.  Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Ms. Reis worked as a Medical Technologist in Microbiology at MGH, and then in the DNA Laboratory at Genzyme Genetics. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Masters in Health Sciences in Physician Assistant studies in August 2003.  Upon graduation she worked as a Surgical Physician Assistant for the Department of Neurosurgery at BMC, where she first-assisted in spine and brain surgery cases and managed patients on the floor and SICU.  She is a member of the AAPA, MAPA, SDPA.
